Responsibilities
  • To monitor and manage pupil attendance and support initiatives to improve overall attendance. You will:
  • Track and maintain accurate attendance records, ensuring compliance with school and statutory requirements.
  • Contact parents and carers regarding absences, liaising to resolve attendance issues and provide guidance.
  • Work closely with pastoral staff, safeguarding leads, and class teachers to identify patterns of absence and support interventions.
  • Support pupils and families to overcome barriers to attendance, including providing advice and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of attendance improvement strategies and initiatives.
  • Generate reports on attendance data for staff, governors, and external agencies as required.
  • Promote a positive attendance culture across the school, recognising and celebrating good attendance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately.
