Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading is seeking a Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator to support the Patient Pathway Manager and coordinators with delegated operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and specialist knowledge.

This on-site role (no remote working) requires experience in scheduling outpatient appointments, IT/patient data systems, and providing information to patients or treatment teams to ensure a smooth pathway from referral to discharge

Qualifications

  • GCSE or equivalent required.
  • Educated to A-level, or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent.
  • Experience using IT systems and patient data systems.
  • Experience scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions.
  • Experience working with patients and providing information regarding appointments or treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Specialise in specific modality appointment bookings, with overview knowledge of all booking processes.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling guidelines, protocols and clinical targets while managing timetable changes and capacity impact.
  • Be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to the patient pathway of care.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to proactively manage the patient pathway from referral to discharge.
  • Provide a consistent, accessible, customer-focused contact to patients and clinicians.

Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT 9 - Rheumatology)

This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join our Rheumatology Team to assist the Patient Pathway Manager and Patient Pathway Coordinators by carrying out delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and their specialist knowledge and experience of the service to make decision.

PLEASE NOTE: This is an on-site role and is not suitable for remote working.

Main duties of the job

To specialise in specific modality appointment bookings, but have an overview and knowledge of all booking processes.

To ensure full compliance with scheduling guidelines, protocols and clinical targets whilst identifying and resolving breach situations and the consequences of changes to timetables and potential impact on capacity.

Job responsibilities

To be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients pathway of care.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.

To ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

To provide a consistent approach across the Trust; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will describe how the functions of the role will be carried out, along with the timescales to which are to be adhered.

Qualifications
  • GCSE or equivalent
  • Educated to A-level, or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
