Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate Director to lead urban drainage modelling, guide delivery, and shape technical strategies across projects with Severn Trent, Scottish Water Horizons, Welsh Water and other clients.

You will mentor teams, drive innovation, build client relationships, engage in business development, and contribute to a growing water discipline within a global firm. Hybrid working and chartered status preferred.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and chartered status with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Experience with wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check outputs before issue.
• Knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage and relevant British Standards.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of our urban drainage modelling capability, keeping the team ahead of evolving methods, tools and standards.
• Assist the team lead with day-to-day management of the technical delivery team.
• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects, collaborating with the wastewater team for innovative delivery.
• Apply independent professional judgement to solve complex engineering challenges and drive innovation.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships and facilitate internal/external meetings.
• Contribute to business development, proposals and strategic growth opportunities.
• Represent WSP in industry forums and conferences.
• Share knowledge and develop the wider water team.
