Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director to shape and lead the urban drainage modelling capability within our UK water team. You will guide technical delivery, influence project outcomes and collaborate with wastewater specialists to deliver innovative solutions for clients such as Severn Trent and Scottish Water Horizons.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed toward ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Experience with wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check outputs.
• Knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems, and British Standards.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of urban drainage modelling capability.
• Support the day-to-day management of the technical delivery team.
• Provide authoritative technical input on urban drainage projects with the wastewater team.
• Apply independent professional judgement to solve complex engineering challenges and drive innovation.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships and facilitate internal and external project meetings.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic growth opportunities.
• Represent WSP in industry forums and conferences.
• Share knowledge to develop the wider water team.
