Stantec in Reading invites an experienced Associate Director – Infrastructure Planning to lead major project planning and consenting across the UK. You will shape strategic advice, manage complex DCO-driven projects and mentor teams within a multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires strong client engagement, commercial awareness and a proactive approach, with national travel as needed. Join a collaborative firm delivering high-profile NSIPs and significant DNS/EIA work.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in leading and managing complex planning projects, including DCOs or other major infrastructure regimes.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning and infrastructure consenting landscape.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client/stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel nationally to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and consenting elements of major infrastructure projects, including DCOs.
• Provide strategic planning, consenting and EIA advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage complex projects to programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Act as a trusted adviser to clients and develop long-term relationships.
• Lead project teams and collaborate across planning, EIA and other disciplines.
• Support business development through proposals and client presentations.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor colleagues.
• Stay up-to-date with planning policy and regimes.
