Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire in the English countryside is seeking a proactive and highly organised Assistant Stewarding Manager to support the efficient operation of our Stewarding team.

You will work closely with the Stewarding Manager to lead, train and coach staff, maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and back-of-house areas, manage rotas, inventory and health and safety compliance in a luxury hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a stewarding, kitchen porter, or back-of-house supervisory role.
• Experience leading or supervising a team within a hospitality environment is preferred
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and sanitation standards
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards
• A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering operational excellence
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Support the Stewarding Manager in the day-to-day supervision and management of the stewarding team
• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware are cleaned, sanitised, and available for service
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas
• Assist with rota planning, team scheduling, and daily task allocation to ensure operational effectiveness
• Train, coach, and support stewarding team members to achieve departmental standards
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment, assisting with ordering and inventory control
• Ensure all waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed correctly and efficiently
• Carry out regular health, safety, and hygiene checks, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Support kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure seamless service delivery across the hotel
