Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire in the English countryside is seeking a proactive Assistant Stewarding Manager to lead the stewarding team and uphold the highest cleanliness and safety standards across kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Working closely with the Stewarding Manager, you will develop schedules, train staff, monitor stock, and ensure efficient service delivery while maintaining luxury guest experiences.

About the role

We’re seeking a proactive and highly organised Assistant Stewarding Manager to support the effective operation of our Stewarding team. Working closely with the Stewarding Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency across all kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

What you will do

• Support the Stewarding Manager in the day-to-day supervision and management of the stewarding team

• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glassware are cleaned, sanitised, and available for service

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen and back-of-house areas

• Assist with rota planning, team scheduling, and daily task allocation to ensure operational effectiveness

• Train, coach, and support stewarding team members to achieve departmental standards

• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and stewarding equipment, assisting with ordering and inventory control

• Ensure all waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed correctly and efficiently

• Carry out regular health, safety, and hygiene checks, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements

• Support kitchen and food & beverage teams to ensure seamless service delivery across the hotel

What You’ll Bring

• Previous experience within a stewarding, kitchen porter, or back-of-house supervisory role

• Experience leading or supervising a team within a hospitality environment is preferred

• Strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and sanitation standards

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

• A hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and team leadership skills

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards

• A proactive attitude and commitment to delivering operational excellence

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
