TeacherActive has partnered with a Birmingham school dedicated to academic excellence and inclusion, offering pupils strong support to achieve the best outcomes. The Assistant SENDCo will join a collaborative Inclusion Team and help develop a proactive SEND provision with a focus on professional development.

The role is permanent, full-time (term-time 39 weeks per year). You will support SEND leadership, assist with daily SEND and inclusion tasks, undertake EHCP reviews and help manage Teaching

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting pupils with SEND.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and ability to contribute to reviews.
• Understanding of current SEND policy and practice.
• Ability to support Teaching Support Assistants.
• Excellent communication, organisation and collaboration.

Job Title: Assistant SENDCo

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £147 - £170 daily

The successful Assistant SENDCo will join a collaborative and dedicated Inclusion Team within a school that places significant emphasis on professional development.

The school is looking to appoint an Assistant SENDCo on a permanent, full-time, term-time basis for 39 weeks per year. The Assistant SENDCo will support the leadership and management of SEND provision, assist with daily SEND and inclusion arrangements, undertake EHCP reviews and share responsibility for the line management of Teaching Support Assistants.

The successful Assistant SENDCo will have:

• Relevant qualifications and knowledge appropriate to working within SEND provision, with QTS not essential
• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities
• Knowledge and experience of EHCPs, including contributing to reviews and revisions
• A strong understanding of current SEND policy and practice
• The ability to support and provide guidance to Teaching Support Assistants
• Excellent communication, organisation and collaborative working skills
