Job summary

The University of Birmingham School is seeking an Assistant SENDCo to support the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, ensuring they have the best possible outcomes.

The post involves assisting with daily SEND arrangements, revising EHCPs, and contributing to an Inclusion Team that upholds the school’s ethos of academic excellence and character education, with development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking to recruit a talented and resourceful individual to the role of Assistant SENDCo. The post holder’s main role will be to assist in leading and managing the provision for pupils identified as having Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) so that they have the best possible outcomes.

The role entails assisting with the daily arrangements within SEND and inclusion, undertaking revisions of EHCPs, sharing in line management of Teaching Support Assistants, and sharing expertise of current SEND policy and practice.

Qualified Teacher Status is not essential for this post.
