Qualifications

Job Title: Assistant SENDCo


Location: Birmingham


Start Date: ASAP


Salary: £147 - £170 daily

Are you a resourceful and organised individual who can help lead an effective SEND and inclusion provision?

The successful Assistant SENDCo will join a collaborative and dedicated Inclusion Team within a school that places significant emphasis on professional development.


The school is looking to appoint an Assistant SENDCo on a permanent, full-time, term-time basis for 39 weeks per year. The Assistant SENDCo will support the leadership and management of SEND provision, assist with daily SEND and inclusion arrangements, undertake EHCP reviews and share responsibility for the line management of Teaching Support Assistants.


The successful Assistant SENDCo will have:


  • Relevant qualifications and knowledge appropriate to working within SEND provision, with QTS not essential

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities

  • Knowledge and experience of EHCPs, including contributing to reviews and revisions

  • A strong understanding of current SEND policy and practice

  • The ability to support and provide guidance to Teaching Support Assistants

  • Excellent communication, organisation and collaborative working skills
