Job summary

First For Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in South Birmingham, supporting children and young people with ASC, SEMH and additional learning needs.

You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, assist teachers with engaging activities and help students develop emotional regulation, communication and social interaction skills.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Experience with ASC/SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who may experience barriers to learning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Location: South Birmingham Pay: £90-£110 per day, dependent on experience Contract: Full-time, long-term

First For Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in South Birmingham, supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and additional learning difficulties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys making a real difference, helping pupils develop confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual goals.

SEND Teaching Assistant role requirements:
