Assistant School Caretaker

Full time / Permanent

Salary: £25,583 – £25,989

Monday – Friday 10:30am – 6:30pm (6:00pm on a Friday) during school term time; Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm during school holidays.

Our client are looking for an experienced Assistant Caretaker to join their established team to assist the Caretaker in providing a clean and safe environment for users of the school buildings and grounds.

Duties

• Maintain the security of the school’s buildings and grounds.
• Operate the school’s heating plant.
• Undertake general porterage duties including movement of furniture and equipment within the school.
• Carry out maintenance duties which may include minor repairs to furniture and fixtures and non-specialist decorating tasks.
• Carry out daily and periodic cleaning of designated areas of the school buildings and grounds according to the schedule of work.
• Deputise for the Caretaker when required, including opening and closing the school.
• Set up and provide support for school events, including assemblies.

The school is situated at the edge of Hemel Hempstead and is within easy access of the M1/M25 and the train station.
