Job summary

300 North Limited is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Cheltenham to join its established commercial team on a varied programme of building, refurbishment and asset improvement works.

You will support the Commercial Manager across scoping, procurement, cost management and final accounts, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle from feasibility to close-out.

This role offers broad commercial experience across live projects and opportunities to develop professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction or equivalent.
• Experience with consultancy, contractor, facilities/property organisation or client-side teams.
• Experience in refurbishment, fit-out or building improvement projects.
• Understanding of procurement, tendering, valuations, variations and cost management.
• Working knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Good understanding of construction practices, health and safety and regulatory requirements.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Good commercial judgement and ability to work with stakeholders.
• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.
• Candidates working towards a professional qualification (RICS/CIOB/APM) welcome.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial management of multiple projects.
• Assist with feasibility assessments, budgets and scope development.
• Prepare procurement and tender information and support contractor selection.
• Review quotations and ensure commercial value.
• Prepare and administer contracts, orders and documentation.
• Support management of JCT contracts and other forms.
• Review contractor valuations and project expenditure.
• Assess scope changes and commercial implications.
• Maintain cost information, forecasts and records.
• Produce reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams.
• Assist close-out, final accounts and lessons learned.
