Job summary

RG Setsquare seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its busy Capital Works division delivering long-term planned maintenance and refurbishment across Gloucestershire. The role covers kitchen and bathroom replacements, decarbonisation, external works and wider refurbishment in occupied properties.

You will prepare estimates, measure on site, manage subcontractors, and produce valuations and reports while supporting cash flow and commercial performance on multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor.
• Experience managing projects up to 3 million.
• Strong cost control, valuations, forecasting and contract administration.
• Experience in refurbishment, planned maintenance, social housing, capital works or construction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and maximizing value.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy Capital Works division delivering long-term planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes across Gloucestershire.

Working on established local authority contracts, the successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes, decarbonisation projects, external works and wider refurbishment schemes within occupied residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, working closely with both operational and commercial teams, giving genuine influence over project delivery from pre-contract through to final account.

The successful candidate can be based in either Bristol, or Cheltenahm, whichever is more commutable.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor.
• Experience managing projects or programmes valued up to 3 million.
• A strong understanding of cost control, valuations, forecasting and contract administration.
• Experience within refurbishment, planned maintenance, social housing, capital works or construction environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and maximising value.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• The ability to build effective relationships with both clients and operational teams.

Experience working within occupied properties, social housing or refurbishment environments would be highly advantageous.
