Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Chatham, Kent

Salary: Up to £40,000 + package

A well-established main contractor is looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on an exciting new-build football training ground project in Chatham, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career and gain further experience working on a high-profile new-build project within a supportive and experienced commercial team.

The Role

Reporting into the commercial team, you will play an important role in supporting the commercial management of the project, with responsibilities including:

• Assisting with subcontractor procurement and management
• Preparing and reviewing subcontractor valuations
• Assisting with variations, applications and payments
• Supporting monthly cost reporting and forecasting
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
• Assisting with subcontractor account management
• Working closely with the site and project teams
• Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team

About You

The ideal candidate will be an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with main contractor experience, ideally gained within the building / new-build sector.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Main contractor experience
• A relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction qualification, or be working towards one
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with site and commercial teams
• A genuine desire to develop and progress within the construction industry
