Job summary

Boots UK is seeking an Assistant Manager in Cardiff to lead a retail team on the shop floor, delivering outstanding customer care and safe, compliant pharmacy services. You will coach staff, schedule rotas and drive commercial performance while maintaining high standards of service and store operations.

This hands-on leadership role focuses on people, performance and operations, offering a clear path to future leadership roles within Boots and opportunities across departments as the business

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to drive performance and results.
• Able to coach others and manage performance.
• Strong organisational skills including rota planning and absence management.
• Clear understanding of compliance, safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support your team day to day—setting expectations and coaching.
• Balance people, performance and operations to shape store experience.
• Own day-to-day running: planning, scheduling, staffing and workload priorities.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and shopability.
• Manage stock availability, costs and loss prevention.
• Ensure audits, checks and risk assessments are conducted.
• Use data and insights to identify opportunities and act on them.
• Lead the store in the absence of Store Leader.
