Halfords Autocentres in St Albans is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Centre Manager with workshop leadership, profitability, and customer experience.

You'll split time between hands-on mechanical work and supervising the team, driving service standards, coaching colleagues, and ensuring health and safety. With our structured training scheme, you have a clear path in the UK's leading automotive service business.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Strong technical/mechanical knowledge, ideally with a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.
• Bring your own set of tools and put them to great use in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Centre Manager with productive management and leadership, driving profitability and focusing on the customer journey.
• Split time between the workshop with technicians and daily sales/customer service responsibilities.
• Drive service standards, coach teammates, and ensure health & safety compliance.
