Job summary

Jewells is recruiting an Assistant Manager in Reading to support the Store Manager, drive performance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You’ll lead day-to-day operations, mentor the team, and push for progression to Store Manager as the brand scales.

The role focuses on people leadership, sales excellence, customer service, and maintaining high visual and operational standards across the store.

What you’ll be doing

Support team leadership

• Support the Store Manager in leading and developing the team
• Coach and motivate team members to achieve their full potential
• Act as the senior leader on duty in the Store Manager’s absence
• Help create a positive, high-performing store culture

Drive sales performance

• Support delivery of store sales targets and KPIs
• Coach team members to maximise sales opportunities
• Support daily performance monitoring and action planning

Deliver exceptional customer experiences

• Lead by example in delivering Jewells’ customer experience standards
• Support customers with styling advice and personalised service
• Ensure every customer has a positive and engaging experience

Maintain operational excellence

• Support store operations, visual merchandising, and stock control
• Maintain high standards of store presentation and compliance
• Support loss prevention and operational procedures

Support piercing services

• Deliver and support safe, professional piercing services (full training provided)
• Ensure piercing standards, hygiene, and compliance requirements are maintained

Piercing requirement

Piercing services form a core part of this role for employees contracted to work more than 5 hours per week.

Full piercing training will be provided.
