Job description

As Assistant Club Manager, you will work closely with the Club Manager to support all areas of daily operations. From sales and member retention to team supervision and social media, you'll help drive the club's success, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and help build a positive, welcoming gym community.

Sales & Membership Growth
  • Lead from the front with direct membership sales
  • Convert incoming leads through calls, walk‑ins, and outreach
  • Support and coach the sales team to hit monthly targets
  • Track KPIs and manage CRM systems with accuracy
  • Implement local business partnerships and corporate memberships
Member Retention
  • Ensure all members feel valued and supported
  • Work with the Club Manager to track retention rates and reduce churn
  • Create a club culture that feels inclusive and community‑driven
  • Deliver an excellent onboarding experience for new members
Operations & Team Support
  • Maintain cleanliness, equipment standards, and staff coverage
  • Coordinate stock, vending, and basic facility upkeep
  • Support in staff training and team development
  • Take ownership of key club processes in the Club Manager's absence
Marketing & Social Media
  • Create engaging content for social media channels
  • Contribute to marketing ideas and promotions to drive leads
  • Build awareness through local campaigns, events, and digital engagement
  • Keep the club's online presence fresh and informative
Health & Safety
  • Help maintain compliance with all health & safety standards
  • Monitor and support risk assessments and operational checklists
  • Ensure facilities remain safe, secure, and in excellent condition
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a sales or customer‑facing leadership role
  • Experience in a fitness, leisure, or hospitality environment preferred
  • Passion for fitness and building a positive, energetic club culture
  • Confidence in content creation and social media use
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated, and team‑focused attitude
Compensation & Benefits
  • Willing to work flexible shifts including some evenings and weekends
  • £5‑£10 per sale commission based on performance
  • Monthly retention bonuses (£200‑£300) based on active member targets
