Job summary

Sanctuary Housing Association in Dundee is inviting applications for an Assistant Housing Officer. You will join a team delivering high quality housing management with full training and development opportunities.

The role entails front of house reception, processing applications, tenancy documentation and liaising with tenants to resolve issues. Working Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, you’ll be supported by a Welfare Rights Officer and other Housing Officers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in social housing management.
  • Recent customer service or admin experience.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with changing requirements.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and housing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Front of house reception duties.
  • Process housing applications and shortlisting, provide housing options advice.
  • Draft tenancy agreements and complete home-visit paperwork.
  • Liaise with tenants; respond to enquiries and complaints.
  • Work with customers to resolve issues and improve services.
  • Prepare correspondence for void properties.
  • Communicate with external agencies, residents and staff about tenancies.
  • Raise purchase orders and process cash/card payments.
  • Handle all admin functions.

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 9:00am to 5:00pm

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Housing Officer to join our Housing team based in Dundee. You will be working in a team of Assistant Housing Officers, Housing Officers and a Welfare Rights Officer. You will work on a variety of administrative tasks to provide support and enable the delivery of a high quality housing management service. You will receive full training, on-going support and opportunities to develop. Whilst this is a very diverse and challenging role, it is equally rewarding. If you are highly motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service, this could be the role for you.

The role of Assistant Housing Officer will include:
  • Front of house reception duties
  • Processing housing applications and shortlisting, providing housing options advice
  • Drafting tenancy agreement documentation and completing all paperwork associated with home visits
  • Liaising with tenants; responding to enquiries and complaints
  • Working with customers to resolve issues and improve services
  • Preparing correspondence in relation to void properties
  • Communicating with external agencies, residents and staff in regard to tenancies
  • Raising purchase orders and ensuring the completion of cash sheets, processing cash and card payments
  • Processing all admin functions
Skills and experiences:
  • Experience working in social housing management
  • Recent experience within a customer service environment or administrative position
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with fast changing requirements
  • Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word and Excel also SAP or any other housing systems
  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to Scottish National 5 & SVQ2 in relevant area
