We are looking for Assistant Events Manager to join our team!

*This is a Clustered position for Shangri‑La Rasa Sayang, Penang & Shangri‑La Golden Sands, Penang.

As a Assistant Events Manager, we rely on you to

  • Ensure coordination between the Events Management Department and Front Lines / Back‑of‑House Departments.
  • Take responsibility in managing all local events.
  • Work closely with all hotel staff to ensure every guest receives high‑quality service.
  • Work with the team to come up with new ideas and solve any recurring issues.
  • Engage with guests and always look for ways to enhance the service.
  • Create an exceptional experience for our guests.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Diploma, Degree or any relevant certification in the field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an international class hotel and at least 2 years working experience in a similar position.
  • Effective bi‑lingual both oral and written in the English & Malay.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills.
  • Is detail‑oriented, creative and has the ability to drive change.
  • Strong leader with good financial acumen and excellent knowledge of the local market.
  • Ability to direct the events team to achieve the catering revenue goal as set by the hotel.
  • Able to contribute ideas and feedback to operations team for service enhancement.
  • Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
