A local government authority in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Health to provide strategic leadership across its health initiatives. This senior role focuses on breaking down barriers to enhance public health outcomes for the communities in Leicestershire. Candidates should be qualified in public health and possess strong leadership and influencing skills. This position offers the chance to lead a high-performing team, ensuring the voice of public health is heard.
In this highly influential and strategic post, you will work across our whole directorate, council and county, breaking down siloes and unlocking the potential of our partnerships to deliver the best possible health outcomes for the people and communities of Leicestershire.
You will report to our Director of Public Health who is a chief officer of the council reporting to the Chief Executive. As one of two Assistant Directors, you will ensure that the voice of public health and the needs of our residents and communities are heard.
You will be suitably qualified in public health, and will also bring experience of managing other public health professionals, budgets, projects, and leading through change. You will demonstrate exceptional leadership, partnering and influencing skills, and an ability to work across and beyond public health, focusing on outcomes and solutions.
