Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
  • Oversee invoice/expense management ensuring accurate coding.
  • Prepare and process supplier payments and maintain reconciliations.
  • Raise client invoices and manage receivables, follow up overdue balances.
  • Perform reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly journals.
  • Assist with management accounts and month‑end reporting.

Great role for an ambitious Assistant Accountant looking for hands‑on exposure, study support, and clear progression in a creative environment.

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a fast‑growing and dynamic business within the creative industry. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role offering exposure across the full finance function from Accounts Payable and Receivable through to management accounts, reconciliations, and intercompany work.

You’ll be the second hire into a small, collaborative finance team, working closely with the Finance Manager and gaining exceptional exposure that will set you up for future progression within the business.

This is a hybrid role 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end‑to‑end Accounts Payable and Receivable processes in Xero.
  • Oversee invoice and expense management (using Spendesk or similar), ensuring accurate coding and approvals.
  • Prepare and process weekly supplier payments and maintain reconciliations.
  • Raise client invoices, manage receivables, and follow up on overdue balances.
  • Perform bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation journals.
  • Prepare prepayments and accruals schedules each month.
  • Assist with or take ownership of management accounts, including variance analysis and month‑end reporting.
  • Support the Finance Manager in ensuring all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Reconcile project costs and highlight over‑or underspends.
Key Skills
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within finance
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Exposure to multi‑currency or US entities (a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and accountable with a strong eye for detail
