Qualifications

Assessor/Coach - Corporate

We have an exciting opportunity to join an established team as an Assessor/coach within our Faculty of Education, working across all sites. Apprenticeships are increasingly important to the Trust, and you will work as part of the Apprenticeship Delivery Team to run this service to meet the Trust's 5-year business plan.

The Assessor/Coach is a key specialist role focusing on planning and delivery of our business and leadership apprenticeships training programmes, mainly at level 3 and level 5.

You will work with a diverse range of internal colleagues in all areas to create apprenticeship opportunities that enable staff to develop and progress, regardless of where they work in the Trust or the job they do.

This role is being offered part time for three days per week which must include a Wednesday, across both sites, fixed term/secondment until 31st October 2026.

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the Lead Technical Trainer to devise individual programmes in line with the needs of the Apprentice and their working area

Coordinate the before-programme element of the Apprenticeship and support collation of portfolio of evidence that showcases the Apprentice's knowledge, skills and abilities to their best standard

To ensure any mandatory training or internal training is mapped across into the Apprenticeship to maximise and capture naturally occurring knowledge, skills and behaviours

Coordinate the delivery of group based teaching sessions as and when required

To manage the learner journey and ensure that mandatory timelines are met such as candidate registration, completion of mandatory qualifications, gateway and EPA requirements

To meet regularly with the line managers to review progress and set targets in line with the programme delivery

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Good standard of education inc GSCE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of level 3 vocational qualification relevant to the job role
  • Assessor qualification: A1, TAQA, CAVA or a willingness to achieve within first 6 months of employment
  • A relevant teaching qualification at a minimum of level 3 or a willingness to complete within 2 years
Experience
  • Recent experience of assessing in the workplace both knowledge and competencies
  • Experience of working with Apprenticeship standards
  • Working with and supporting a dedicated caseload of Apprentices
  • Experience specifically related to the standards being delivered
  • IQA responsibilities
  • Experience of leading standardisation
  • Sign up processes and eligibility criteria
  • Experience of delivering maths and English Functional Skills
  • Recent experience in a Healthcare or Social Care environment
