A government department in the UK seeks a professional to join the Army Scrutiny and Approvals Team. The role involves overseeing business cases, managing IT systems, and ensuring compliance. The Army Scrutiny and Approvals Team (ASAT) are responsible for improving the quality of investment appraisals and business cases across the Army TLB as well as providing an independent non-advocate scrutiny function within the Top Level Budget (TLB).
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week and will be used to job share across two teams within the specialist services, allowing you to develop into different areas of the business and build future progression under Finance Functional Leadership.
Part One of the role will work for ASAT (under specialist services) and is responsible for understanding and shaping TLB External Assistance and professional services cases; administrative roles including internally delivered training courses, ensuring compliance and improvement of ASAT processes through development of IT capabilities and management of current IT systems (SharePoint, DAT, Power BI etc), management of the ASAT mailbox and provision of support to the Army Investment Committee (AIC) as well as providing an opportunity to consider Category D business cases particularly in the infrastructure portfolio.
Part Two of the role is in the specialist services environment, improving knowledge of Finance IT systems, developing and aligning processes to enable Finance, Commercial and HR functions. It seeks to understand and improve processes, keep abreast of technological advances and suggest ways to streamline existing processes.
Army HQ, Andover, SP11 8HT. Salary information: salary of £29,580 with £8,569 contributed towards Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Other benefits include 25 days annual leave rising to 30, flexible working where possible, and various development opportunities.
