Overview
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) seeks an Information Manager to drive the organisation's success through effective management and exploitation of data and information assets. RMAS delivers initial and career officer training to Regular and Reserve officers for the British Army and our international allies. This role is advertised at 37 hours per week with flexible and hybrid working arrangements considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for managing, organising and disseminating information assets and business intelligence data.
- Design, implement and manage databases, repositories, knowledge management systems and their security architectures as product and application owner.
- Utilise business intelligence tools and techniques (including the O365 suite) to identify patterns and trends in data to support decision making.
- Develop, maintain and enforce the Information Management plan, provide direction to Heads of Departments, lead briefs and provide training.
- Lead on data governance, ensuring compliance and accountability, and determine requirements reflecting the organisation’s ethos and values.
- Supervise and enable HQ iHub and distributed iHub staff to support delivery of iAdmin, IM, IX and user account and security management.
- Act as the authority for the retention policy of records, Protectively Marked material, and the Data Protection Advisor (DPA).
- Deliver project management functions across relevant data projects to align outputs and deliver outcomes.
- Line management responsibilities for 1 Civil Servant and 2 Military staff.
- Promote health and safety and Diversity and Inclusion within the workplace.
Essential Skills / Qualifications
- Data analytics and visualisation, including Power BI.
- Experience in managing databases, repositories, knowledge and information management systems and the architectures they are built upon.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to understand information needs and develop effective solutions with internal and external customers.
- Solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to information management and exploitation.
- Leadership skills and the ability to lead and mentor staff.

Additional Information
Please note: the post does not offer relocation expenses. External candidates to MOD on civil service will undergo a six-month probation. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this role as it does not meet the skilled worker category. Some interview travel expenses are not reimbursed.
