Job summary

A leading aerospace company in Harlow is looking for an Apprentice Aircraft Fitter for its apprenticeship programme. This role provides fully funded qualifications and hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance and servicing. Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs including Mathematics, English Language, and Science, along with motivation for engineering. Position Overview

Marshall has been training apprentices for over 100 years and we are committed to the development of future talent. Not only will you receive fully funded qualifications you will get real‑world, hands‑on experience of working in an aerospace engineering environment. As an Apprentice Aircraft Fitter, you will be expected to develop the high level of skill and knowledge required to carry out maintenance, repairs and modifications to a variety of aircraft, safely, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Attending and engaging with training, including exams and 1‑2‑1 meetings with tutors/assessors.
  • Managing your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship.
  • Reflecting on your own practice and experiences and taking any feedback on board.
  • Performing scheduled aircraft maintenance and servicing.
  • Conducting unscheduled aircraft maintenance, including defect rectification to aircraft systems and components.
  • Repairing airframe structures.
  • Carrying out all levels of modifications to aircraft structures, systems and interiors.
  • Performing related duties, including operation of ground equipment, assistance in aircraft movements and aircraft delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace and Aviation Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance (Civil Aircraft Mechanical)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Aviation Maintenance (Development Competence)
  • Motivation for Marshall, the aerospace industry and a career in engineering.
  • Motivation to complete an apprenticeship – learning on the job.
  • Desire and aptitude for hands‑on work and developing technical skills.

Entry Requirements
  • You must have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade A‑C/4‑9 (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English Language and Science.
  • You must not have already completed the Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications listed in the “Qualifications and Experience” section.
  • In order to receive apprenticeship funding you must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements.

Please note that assessment centres for this role will be held towards the end of March 2026.
