Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Stoke-on-Trent seeks an Appointment Scheduler to join the Imaging Directorate. The role involves scheduling appointments, ensuring timely service to patients, and handling inquiries with professionalism. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 2 GCSEs in Maths and English and have experience in customer service, preferably within the NHS. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs / O levels (bands A - C) Maths & English or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in using CRIS required.
  • Minimum of one year's experience dealing with patients or public.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments to meet local and national targets.
  • Communicate with patients and monitor waiting lists.
  • Handle enquiries courteously over the phone and face to face.

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa; you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an appointment scheduler to join the Imaging Directorate, providing a comprehensive, efficient and effective service for the Appointment Scheduling Team. The post will include scheduling appointments ensuring that local and national waiting time targets are achieved and dealing with any enquiries over the phone or face to face in a courteous and professional manner.

Main duties of the job
  • Schedule appointments, ensuring local and national waiting time targets are met.
  • Communicate with patients and monitor the waiting list.
  • Handle enquiries over the phone and face to face in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills, flexibility and reliability.
  • Occasional weekend working may be required.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 GCSEs / O levels (bands A - C) Maths & English or equivalent experience

Experience
  • Computerised systems with the ability to use the Microsoft package
  • Minimum of one year's experience of dealing with patients / public / customers, either face to face or via the telephone, on a daily basis
  • Minimum of one year's experience of working in the NHS or other complex organisations
  • Experience of working in an appointment booking environment
  • Experience in dealing with waiting lists and targets
  • Experience of working in the NHS
