Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and committed team member to join our kitchen team. You will assist with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals and support the head cook to ensure food hygiene standards are met.

You should be positive, self-motivated, with excellent communication skills, and happy to work to high care standards. Training will be provided and two references, DBS, and legal right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or care home kitchen is preferred but training will be provided.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Positive, self-motivated and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Assisting the head cook to ensure that food hygiene regulations are followed.
• Keeping the kitchen and equipment clean to required food hygiene standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of food supplies and temperatures in storage.
• Being mindful of residents' dietary preferences and requirements.

About you:

You will be positive, enthusiastic, and professional and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure our residents receive high quality service. We need someone who is self-motivated and has excellent communication skills.

Desired but not essential:

• Food and hygiene certificate
• Previous experience in a similar role however training will be provided

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Assisting the head cook to ensure that food is prepared in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
• Helping to keep the kitchen area and equipment clean and to the standard for food hygiene.
• Under guidance of head cook, maintaining accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures
• Being aware of varied preferences and dietary requirements of individual residents
