Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd in the Wirral region is recruiting a dedicated cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare home‑cooked, appetising meals for residents, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in a busy care home environment.

Experience in a care setting is welcome but not essential. A Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate is preferred, and knowledge of textured/modified diets would be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate required or in progress.
• Experience in a kitchen environment and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Organise, prepare and serve appetising, home‑cooked meals for residents.

Duties and Responsibilities.

Reporting to the Home Manager the successful applicant will be an organised and helpful leader in a busy kitchen environment. You will be responsible for organising, preparing, and serving appetising and freshly produced food, whilst maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.

Key to your success in this role will be your experience within the food industry, along with the ability to be part of a strong team in the kitchen. Experience in a care setting would be an advantage but not essential.

What are we looking for?

• Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
• Knowledge of textured/modified diets would be an advantage
