Job summary

Springcare Care Homes Ltd in Wolverhampton is seeking an enthusiastic kitchen team member to assist with meal prep and service in a caring residential and nursing setting.

You will work under the head cook, ensuring hygiene standards are met and residents receive high-quality meals. Training will be provided for those new to the role, with a supportive, family-run ethos and ongoing opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Must be positive, enthusiastic and professional with excellent communication with residents and colleagues.
• Food hygiene certificate (desirable) or willingness to train.
• Previous kitchen experience preferred but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Assisting the head cook to ensure meals meet food hygiene regulations.
• Keep the kitchen and equipment clean to food hygiene standards.
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies and temperatures under guidance.
• Be mindful of residents' dietary needs and preferences.

About you:

Desired but not essential:

• Food and hygiene certificate
• Previous experience in a similar role however training will be provided

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of hot and cold meals.
• Assisting the head cook to ensure that food is prepared in accordance with food hygiene regulations.
• Helping to keep the kitchen area and equipment clean and to the standard for food hygiene.
• Under guidance of head cook, maintaining accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures
• Being aware of varied preferences and dietary requirements of individual residents
