Anaesthetic Practitioner

At the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, you'll get all the support you've always wanted to develop your skills, expand your knowledge, and grow your scope of practice.

RMCH Theatres are the leading provider of paediatric tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester and treat more than a million patients every year. Our Theatre Department consists of nine operating theatres, a Minor Procedures Unit and ten post anaesthetic recovery bays. Within our theatres, we provide highly specialised elective care including Renal Transplantation, Spinal, Neurosurgical, Burns & Plastics, Neonatal, Thoracic, Complex ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics.

As one of our band 5 practitioners, you will be undertaking a preceptorship period (of 12 months for newly qualified) where you will complete the required trust & theatre competencies to enable you to be a skillful and knowledgeable practitioner.

You will be supported in a supernumery period of 3 months where you will be working alongside your mentor- learning your role and building your confidence.

You will also be required to complete all relevant MFT trust mandatory training.

Shift Patterns
  • Early shift – 8–6
  • Late shift – 12–21.30
  • Night shift – 21.00–08.30
  • Weekend shifts are also included within our roster
Main duties of the job

Working as an ODP/Registered Nurse within Paediatric Theatres, you'll be providing the highest standards of care and making a difference to the lives of children across Manchester and beyond. You'll provide outstanding clinical support and deliver direct care for our patients within your specialist area.
