Job summary

The Citation Group seeks an AI Architect to lead the AI/Data architecture within the delivery area, reporting to the Chief AI Officer.

You will establish architectural patterns, govern model choices, cost, and security, and ensure decisions are embedded in live builds across teams.

Senior candidate with 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering and hands-on AI production experience is required.

Qualifications

• Senior level with 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems beyond pilots.
• Influence comes from judgement in conversations; no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Architectural standards and patterns for AI systems.
• Own design patterns for AI retrieval/ grounding, agent orchestration, prompts, and routing.
• Maintain architecture decision records aligned with five‑layer AI platform architecture.
• Documented framework for open-weight vs closed models and per‑workload decisions.
• Manage token costs, observability, and cost governance for AI solutions.
• Involve Security in significant initiatives from the start and govern AI design choices.
• Oversee production quality, observability, and incident response for AI systems.
• Act as internal architectural counterpart to delivery partners and oversee third‑party design reviews.
