Job summary

The Citation Group is seeking an AI Architect to own AI-specific architecture across Citations' AI/Data domain. You will govern model selection, data readiness, and cost for scalable AI initiatives, reporting to the Chief AI Officer and aligning with cross‑functional delivery teams.

Senior candidates with 6+ years in software, data, or platform architecture and hands-on production AI experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Senior — 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture, with meaningful hands-on time on production AI systems, not just pilots

Responsibilities

• Architectural standards and patterns: Own the design patterns Citation builds its AI systems to; write decisions down as architecture decision records
• Model selection framework: balance open-weight vs closed models by task complexity, cost, data residency, and latency
• Tokenomics and cost governance: manage unit economics, observability, and cost-per-outcome for AI solutions
• Data architecture and readiness: assess data quality, accessibility, and reliability to support AI initiatives
• Design authority and governance: approve AI design changes and sign off on AI design elements of partner Statements of Work
• Proof of concept and validation: define scope, success criteria, and validate vendor capability before commitments
• Third-party delivery oversight: review proposals and conduct design reviews with delivery partners
• Production quality, observability, and cost: set standards for monitoring, evaluation, and incident response
• Security and compliance: involve Security from the start and ensure compliance in AI initiatives
