Job summary

The Citation Group is seeking an AI Architect to lead architectural decisions for AI/data initiatives. You will be embedded in the delivery area, line-managed to the Chief AI Officer, and responsible for applying architectures across multiple domains, not within a single team.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture with hands-on production AI experience, and a track record of shaping scalable, secure AI systems from design to production.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems, not just pilots

Responsibilities

• Establish architectural standards and patterns for AI systems
• Own design patterns for AI retrieval, grounding, agent orchestration, and prompt guardrails
• Hold a documented decision framework for model selection and hosting choices
• Manage token cost and observability for AI deployments
• Involve Security in major initiatives from the start
• Provide production quality, observability, and incident governance for AI systems
• Oversee third-party delivery with architectural oversight and SOW reviews
