Job summary

The Citation Group is seeking an AI Architect to own the AI/Data architecture across delivery teams, reporting to the Chief AI Officer. The role sits within the AI/Data area and will line-manage centrally to ensure architectural decisions carry across the business.

In this senior position, you will formalise informal practices into standards, govern model selection, cost, security, and data readiness, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, and Atlas Platform teams.

Qualifications

• Senior level with 6+ years across software, data or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems, not just pilots.
• Experience in AI architectures and decisions that span multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Establish architectural standards and patterns for AI systems.
• Own model selection framework comparing open-weight vs closed models.
• Define tokenomics, cost governance, and observability for AI solutions.
• Assess data architecture and readiness to support AI initiatives.
• Provide design authority and governance, engaging early in discussions.
