Job summary

The Citation Group is seeking an AI Architect to own AI-specific architecture across the delivery area, reporting to the Chief AI Officer. You will align patterns, design decisions, and governance with the five‑layer AI platform and ensure secure, cost-aware implementations.

Senior candidates with 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture and hands-on production AI work will influence critical decisions, standards, and collaboration with architecture and product teams.

Qualifications

• Senior level with 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems, not just pilots.
• Ability to influence architecture decisions without direct headcount.

Responsibilities

• Define AI-specific architectural standards and patterns (retrieval/grounding, agent orchestration, prompt design).
• Own decision framework for model selection (open-weight vs closed), and cost awareness.
• Ensure token spend, cost-per-outcome, and security are embedded in design conversations from the start.
• Collaborate with Architecture Review Board and delivery partners to govern AI initiatives.
