Job summary

Education Authority is seeking an Assistant Building Supervisor for Knockevin Special School in Downpatrick. You will assist the building supervisor with on-site supervision, cleaning and related services, following Education Authority procedures to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

The post is permanent, part-time (27.5 hours per week) with afternoons 12:00–17:30. The successful candidate will operate security systems, manage routine checks and support day-to-day admin tasks, while

Qualifications

• Minimum six months’ experience as assistant building supervisor or in a related school environment.
• Be a key holder prepared to respond to call outs, including unsociable hours.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Security of premises and contents, open/close, lock up at end of day.
• Operate and monitor security systems and alarms, report faults.
• Plan, supervise cleaning staff and ensure EA standards are met.
• Admin tasks: maintain records, prepare reports, manage stock and orders.
• Porterage duties and prepare rooms for examinations and after-school activities.
