Job summary

The Education Authority is hiring a part-time Cleaner to assist with cleaning duties across school premises in Downpatrick. The role requires adherence to health and safety rules and COSHH procedures, with training provided by the EA cleaning service before commencing.

You will work as part of a team, performing floor care, toilet and surface cleaning, dusting, litter collection and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three months’ demonstrable working experience in a cleaning role.
• Mandatory training for the EA cleaning service prior to starting employment.
• Ability to comply with Health and Safety regulations relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dry buff, spray clean and maintain floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean toilets, showers and fixtures, and wipe internal surfaces up to 3.35m.
• Dust ledges, walls and furniture; empty litter bins and dispose of waste.
• Polish furniture where required and report any equipment defects promptly.
