Job summary

SAFRAN Seats in Cwmbran, Wales, seeks a Configuration Manager to lead the CMS, govern product configurations, and optimise the engineering change process. You will ensure CMS alignment with group and regulatory standards and partner with Change and Programme Management to embed configuration control across programmes.

The role requires CMII Level 6, experience with CATIA V5/SmarTeam, and a background in aerospace or automotive industries.

Qualifications

• We are seeking a safety-focused engineer with strong aviation experience and CM expertise.
• Degree-qualified in mechanical/aerospace/structural engineering or equivalent.
• CMII Level 6 certification is highly desirable with CM principles knowledge.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, SmarTeam, or similar PLM tools is required.
• Experience in aerospace or automotive environments and DMU knowledge is preferred.
• Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus specifications and release/change processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the CMS to ensure traceability and governance across configurations.
• Own the engineering change control process and run effective CCBs.
• Standardise configuration and change practices in line with group processes.
• Produce CM data and reports to support lifecycle requirements.
• Assess business and customer needs and implement CM improvements.
• Collaborate with Change and Programme Management during delivery and changes.
• Support Windchill PLM deployment and optimization.
• Analyse CMS performance and drive efficiency and governance improvements.
