Job summary

Safran Seats in Wales is seeking a Configuration Manager to lead the CMS, governance, and change-control processes across lifecycle configurations. You will drive standardisation and data reporting, coordinating with Change/Programme teams to embed configuration control in delivery.

The role requires aerospace design experience and CMII Level 6 certification, with hands-on PLM tools such as CATIA V5, SmarTeam, or Windchill. A collaborative, safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering, or HNC/HND with significant design experience.
• CMII Level 6 certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with CATIA V5, SmarTeam or PLM systems is required.
• Aerospace or Automotive industry experience, including DMU knowledge.
• Familiarity with Boeing and Airbus specifications and requirements.
• Strong knowledge of engineering release, change control, and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the CMS to meet organisational, customer, OEM, and regulatory requirements.
• Own and optimise the engineering change control process with clear responsibilities and effective Change Control Boards (CCBs).
• Drive standardisation of configuration and engineering change practices aligned with group processes.
• Produce and maintain configuration management data and reports for lifecycle requirements.
• Assess changes in business, customer, and industry requirements and implement improvements to CMS processes.
• Partner with Change and Programme Management to embed configuration control.
• Support Windchill PLM deployment and optimisation.
• Analyse CMS performance and implement efficiency improvements.
