Adult Social Care Solicitor (Hybrid) needed in Solihull, £43.65ph - £52.38phPAYE - Reference: 454339

We are looking for a locum ASC solicitor able to deal confidently with Court of Protection Proceedings, DoLs, ordinary residence, funding and charging disputes, and advisory work relating to Care Act 2014 responsibilities, Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts, etc.

Part-time candidates would be considered, preferably working 4 days per week.

The role is predominantly, but not exclusively, remote working.

• Primarily, the post holder will provide legal support to our Adult Social Care Directorate. The post holder may also assist with other areas of work undertaken by the Social Care and Education Team, including work for Children’s Services and Skills Directorate.
• Advising Members and Officers of the client, its partners, and clients on legal procedural and policy matters.
• Managing a full, varied, and demanding caseload.
• Giving advice and drafting legal documents on a range of legal issues, including policy and procedure.
• Conducting litigation and advocacy on behalf of the client in all levels of civil and criminal courts, tribunals, panels, and inquiries.
• Advising clients on legal and other consequences of proposed courses of action to enable effective, lawful, and best-interest decision-making.
• Participating in briefing and training clients, colleagues, and partner authorities to keep them updated on law and emerging issues.
• Attending Committees and Sub-Committees as required, handling related legal and advisory work.
• Accurately recording time worked.
• Conducting all work in accordance with Practice Management Standards (Lexcel) and other departmental standards.
• Performing any other appropriate duties as required.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
