Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking an Administrator at Townside Primary Care Centre, Bury. The role supports the NHS Individualised Commissioning Team and other areas, with basic finance duties. This temporary post runs for 4 months with potential extension and offers multi-trust opportunities across England.

The successful candidate will manage meetings, handle correspondence, maintain patient records, and assist with invoices and budgets for care packages, within a confidential environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience in a confidential environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in dealing with the public.
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and software such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills, clearly and concisely in writing and speaking.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels and external agencies with sensitive information.
  • Basic finance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange meetings including invites, room bookings, and recording notes.
  • Populate template letters and general correspondence professionally.
  • Maintain accurate patient records on the digital referral system.
  • Signpost members of the public and professionals to appropriate services.
  • Code invoices for authorisation and liaise with providers to resolve queries.
  • Create or amend meeting room diary bookings for the team.
  • Upload patient information to the digital platform.
  • Check to ensure correct commissioner for cases.

Location: Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place, Knowsley Street, Bury locality, BL9 0SN


Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm


Trust: NHS Greater Manchester ICB


Role type: Temporary for 4 months with possibility of extension

Role details

The post-holder will provide administrative support to the NHS Individualised Commissioning Team and other areas of the Directorate. Basic finance duties are also required.


Duties & responsibilities


  • Responsible for arranging meetings including sending meeting invites, room bookings and recording notes as and when required

  • Able to populate template letters and other general correspondence in a professional and timely manner using the appropriate software packages

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date patient records on the digital referral and case management system

  • Able to use their knowledge sign post members of the public and professionals to appropriate services

  • Accurately code invoices for authorisation. Liaise with service providers and other stakeholders as appropriate to resolve queries without delay

  • Creating or amending meeting room diary bookings for the team

  • Uploading of patient information on to the digital platform

  • Responsible for completing checks to on behalf of the service to ensure appropriate responsible commissioner for each case.

  • Booking of reviews and MDT as guided by clinical staff

  • Checking the GP registration for all referrals

  • Managing budgets for care packages for nursing home or end of life patients
