Job summary

NHS Professionals is seeking an Administrator at Amersham Hospital to provide administrative support for the Community and Rehabilitation care group. The role involves inputting data into systems, supporting referrals, and liaising with clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.

The post requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and professional communication with patients and colleagues; shift options are 8:00–16:00 or 9:00–17:00, 37.5 hours per week, Band 3 pay.

Job Title: Administrator

Location: Amersham Hospital, HP7 0JD

Trust: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Payrate: Band 3, £14.05 per hour

Shift Patterns: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm OR 9:00am - 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Duration: Start: ASAP End date: 31st March 2027

Main Job Purpose
  • To provide administrative support to the Community and Rehabilitation care group services.
  • To provide an excellent service to patients, their relatives and carers.
  • To work as part of a Patient Administration Service and provide cross-cover for other staff across the Service to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is always maintained.
Responsibilities
Main tasks - principal duties and responsibilities
  • To complete administration tasks and input information on to electronic record systems following trust guidelines.
  • To support the referral process so that referrals are responded to in a timely manner
  • To liaise with the clinical teams to support the delivery of services across Buckinghamshire.
  • To provide admin support across services in the Administration Hub as required.
  • To provide cover for the clinic reception desk greeting children, young people and their families and dealing with queries.
  • To undertake any other appropriate duties as directed by the service.
Communication
  • To liaise with colleagues and other agencies verbally, virtually and by email.
  • To answer the telephone and deal with any queries in a professional manner, as agreed by the service.
  • To respond to email queries in a professional manner, as agreed by the service.
Responsibility for resources
  • Manage own time effectively to include planning of workload in collaboration with other team members.
  • Take responsibility to minimise incurred expenditure e.g. telephone calls, use of stationery etc.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of any equipment, and care with any furniture and premises used.
Organisational responsibilities
  • To type reports, letters and emails which may include sensitive information.
  • To ensure referrals are managed appropriately.
  • To file reports/ correspondence etc.
  • To scan and upload documents
  • To photocopy documents as required.
  • To deal with incoming and outgoing mail/ emails
  • To take and type minutes of meetings as required.
  • To archive records as necessary.
  • To collate information when working on audits
