Working as part of a team, you will contribute to the overall operational, performance and service standard targets across your area of work. You will progress cases through the court/tribunal system and provide administrative support to functions within HMCTS. You will have regular contact with court and tribunal users, which could include members of the Judiciary and the legal profession.
Your skills and experience should include a friendly and approachable manner, excellent attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, a desire to deliver proactive and effective support to customers by phone and email, proficiency in organising time, prioritising efficiently, and the ability to multitask and adapt to using various software packages. You should enjoy working in a busy environment and helping court users navigate the justice system.
Tribunals are specialist courts that hear a wide range of cases, such as tax, employment, and immigration and asylum. Your role will support Social Security and Child Support hearings, where tribunal decisions might affect benefits or eligibility. Although posts have base locations, you may be required to cover Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley, Lancaster and Preston Tribunal Courts.
If you have held a Skilled Worker visa before 22 July 2025, you may be eligible for the role. New Skilled Worker visas are not considered. Successful applicants must ensure they have and maintain the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom.
The MoJ offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows, blending work from your base location, other MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. For nationally advertised roles, you will be appointed to the nearest viable office near your home postcode and will receive the corresponding pay scale.
We are looking for individuals committed to public service and making a difference in people’s lives. If you are interested in developing a career with a real purpose, please apply. The Civil Service is committed to attracting, retaining and investing in talent wherever it is found.
