Job summary

Leicester College is seeking an Additional Learning Support Assistant to join our team. We have 2x30 hours positions available, supporting students to build study skills, literacy, numeracy and language abilities across in-class, small groups, workshops, outreach, and educational visits.

Ideal candidates will be good communicators with the ability to form constructive relationships that promote independence in learning.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Additional Learning Support or be prepared to work towards a Level 3 qualification in ALS or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
• Level 2 or equivalent qualification in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or Grade 4 or equivalent)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Additional Learning Support Assistant to join our team here at Leicester College. We have 2x30 hours positions available.

We are looking for enthusiastic and outstanding applicants to support students to develop their study skills, literacy, numeracy and language skills. In this role, you will support students in a variety of environments, including in-class, small groups and workshops, outreach, and educational visits. You will be a good communicator and have the ability to form constructive relationships with students to promote independence in learning. Experience of supporting SEND students in a post-16 setting would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly to effectively develop students' independent learning capacity and confidence by enabling them to use effective strategies to overcome barriers to learning. You will have the following:
