Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a mainstream college in Leicester. The role involves supporting a tutor across a range of practical subjects, with emphasis on KS5/T-Level delivery and strong communication to help students access the curriculum.

The position starts immediately and offers 12–16 pounds per hour. Candidates should have Level 3 (or equivalent), a current DBS and experience supporting learners with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or equivalent relevant subject.
• DBS and update service.
• Experience supporting college tutors in a wide range of practical courses.
• Broad experience with personal care and learning support work.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of a T-Level course.

The college is looking for a supportive and motivated Learning Support Assistant on a temporary contract, leading to a permanent position for the right Learning Support Assistant. To help provide the tutor and the pupils with the best learning experience the college has to offer, the successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of T-levels at a Key Stage 5 / KS5 and great communication skills. The role will directly impact the students' pass rating allowing them to move into full time employment or on to higher education.

Support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to become empowered so that they can fully access the curriculum and successfully achieve their programme of study through their development of greater independence
