Job summary

Leicester College is seeking an Additional Learning Support Assistant to join our team. We have 2x30 hours positions available, supporting students to build study skills, literacy, numeracy and language abilities across in-class, small groups, workshops, outreach, and educational visits.

Ideal candidates will be good communicators with the ability to form constructive relationships that promote independence in learning.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Additional Learning Support or be prepared to work towards a Level 3 qualification in ALS or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
• Level 2 or equivalent qualification in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or Grade 4 or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Support students to develop study skills, literacy, numeracy and language skills.
• Support students in a variety of environments, including in-class, small groups and workshops, outreach, and educational visits.
• Promote independence in learning by enabling students to use effective strategies to overcome barriers to learning.
