Job summary

David Lloyd Group in Sunderland seeks an Activities Manager to lead the club’s Fitness, Group Exercise, Racquets, Swim and Families activities. You will regularly act as Duty Manager, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and an outstanding member experience.

You will recruit, train and empower a large team, manage budgets, and collaborate across departments to meet service goals while promoting a culture where members feel valued and cared for.

Qualifications

• Experience running a large operational service delivery facility (e.g. restaurant, attraction, retail, leisure).
• Proven ability to lead multiple functions with varied challenges and goals.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the efficient operation of all activities in Fitness, Group Exercise, Racquets, Swim and Families departments.
• Act as Duty Manager, ensuring smooth club operations across shifts.
• Recruit, train and empower the team to deliver exceptional member experiences.
• Drive cross-department collaboration to meet service standards and KPIs.
• Contribute to the club’s growth through effective people and resource management.
