A community care organization in Greater London is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant and Driver to enhance the lives of older people. In this role, you will provide safe transport for members, assist with engaging activities at community centres, and support individuals according to their care plans. A valid D1 Category Driving Licence and experience working with older or disabled individuals are required. This is a 4-day role, working from Monday to Thursday, with an emphasis on providing a reliable and welcoming service.
We are seeking a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Activities Assistant and Driver to join our team in a varied and rewarding role, making a real difference to the lives of older people in our community. You will be responsible for safely transporting members between their homes and our community centres each morning and afternoon, assisting them on and off the bus and providing a friendly, reassuring welcome. Once at the centre, you will work as an Activities Assistant, supporting and delivering engaging activities such as chair-based exercise sessions, discussion groups, card games, and board games. You will also be expected to support individuals in line with their care plans, which may include personal care. This is a 4-day role (30 hours per week), working Monday to Thursday. Your day will start at 8:00am, collecting members from their homes, supporting them to enjoy a full day of social activities, and returning them home safely at the end of the day.
Note that for insurance purposes the post holder must be over 22 years old with 3 years' driving experience and hold a current clean driving licence.
